Little Big Band Charts

Little Big Band Charts – Site by Design Studio7 littlebigbandchartsco.uk Is a new website for singers, band leaders and musicians looking for swing band arrangements scored for a small 6, 7 or 8 piece band, plus the vocalist. All the charts are written for trumpet, tenor sax, trombone, piano, bass and drums. The arrangements all work very well for a six piece band ,with baritone sax and guitar as the two optional instruments. There is also an alto sax part which can directly replace tenor if better for your band ? A tip for vocalists who specialise and just perform swing music, the baritone does make a big difference and would be a better option than guitar. When you buy and download, all 9 parts and a score are included. There are no lyrics or vocal parts. The arrangements have an average duration of about 3 minutes. You’ll find that in a typical 2 x 1 hour set you will need 25 to 30 songs. Some of the charts have jazz solos, all with chords and a written suggested solo. Some scores have options to open out with solos for the whole band. All the charts have been performed many times and sound great. All have marks of expression and rehearsal marks, also dynamics, which if observed really make a difference to the performance. Some of the charts are quite challenging, particularly the brass and and saxes….. no holiday chops allowed, but most are fairly straightforward and are easy to sight read for competent players . There is no doubling for the saxes but flugel is a good option on some songs for the trumpet player . All arrangements are graded from 1 to 5 in degrees of difficulty, both physical and or musical, with a 5 probably needing a rehearsal even for professional players. If you think a chart maybe too high for your horn players try taking the high parts down an octave as a section, it should sound ok and will work well. Please note your pianist must be able to play from chord symbols as only specific sections are fully written out. Drum parts are written simply, mainly time, hits and stops ,with lots of room for interpretation by the drummer. Bass parts are written for double bass or standard 4 string bass guitar, and also contain some chord symbols. Guitar parts are chorded with some sections having written lines. For you vocalists………. The songs are all suitable for a baritone voice. For the girls….. some songs would be fine for a soprano. We haven’t included key change options for now but may consider that in the future for selected songs. Please listen to the demo tracks for suitability and range etc , there is a demo for every song. At the moment we have 54 charts on offer, with a further 25 completed arrangements ready to be put on the website – if the initial run proves popular. Please go to the list to see where we are headed in the future and vote for your favourites, this will give us a better idea of which songs to do next.
